Community Presentations

Stormwater Water Quality Management Committee members conduct numerous area presentations at community and environmental events, schools and civic groups throughout the Las Vegas Valley to provide an opportunity for valley residents to learn more about ways to keep our neighborhoods and environment clean.

Community and Environmental Events

An exhibitor is available to attend community and environmental events and can be contacted at 455-3139. Please allow at least 3 weeks before the day/night of your event.

Past Presenting Events:
  • Earth Day Birthday - Earth Day Birthday is an annual event for those interested in celebrating Mother Earth and learn how to keep our world clean, healthy and safe.
  • Eco Jam - Eco Jam is an Earth Day festival that provides an opportunity for the public to learn the "best practices" to manage our local resources by preserving the environment and promoting both local and national efforts.

  • Pet-A-Palooza - Pet-A-Palooza is an annual ultimate pet party featuring birds, cats, reptiles and other furry friends with their owners The event also offers product sampling and adoption information.

  • Las Vegas Wash and Wetlands Cleanup - This annual event to eliminate much of the pollution from the area surrounding the Las Vegas Wash is sponsored by Friends of the Desert Wetlands Park, Clark County Parks & Recreation and the Las Vegas Wash Coordination Committee (LVWCC).

Community Presentations

Committee members offer presentations to schools, civic groups, resident's associations, and governmental organizations. These presentations can be customized for audiences and generally run 20 minutes in length. A question and answer session, free handouts, and other items are also included.

In addition, The Clark County Regional Flood Control District offers classroom visits to 5th grade science classes. This program includes flood safety and stormwater pollution instruction. To learn more about this program contact please call 455-3139. Please allow at least 3 weeks before the day/night of your meeting.
